When we first started talking about taking a cruise, I wasn’t sure if it would really happen. Then when we decided on the dates, and then booked it, I was excited.  My husband insisted we take out travel insurance australia to make sure we don’t lose money if one of us weren’t able to take the cruise because of medical reasons. The policy is a pre-travel policy, so it covers us from the time we take out the policy.  It was fortunate we did so, because my mother fell and broke her hip the week before we were scheduled to leave. We weren’t able to know exactly when we would be able to take the trip because it was dependant on my mother’s recovery. We were able to change our trip for a time after my mother’s recovery as complete, and we didn’t have to worry about paying a fee or penalty.
