I take my daughter to the park every day. I often converse with the other mothers in the park. A lot of Spanish speaking families have moved into the neighborhood, and I was not able to communicate with them. I bought a tape so I could learn popular Spanish greetings. I may not be able to carry on a long conversation with them, but I will at least be able to say hello, introduce myself, ak their name, and say goodbye. I want to be friendly, but I hope they do not think that I can speak Spanish fluently.
