How do I start a budget for my family

If you’re new to personal or family budgeting, you may not konw how to get started - to keep things simple, here are a few family budget tips.

Don’t overcomplicate things. Simply record all your earnings and all your expenenses to begin with and tally up the numbers weekly or monthly.

When you write down expenses start with those that stay the same each month like your rent or mortgage and your car payment. This way you don’t have to worry about them again next month.

Then list all expenses that keep coming up each month like your phone bill, cable bill and other utilities.

Record expenses like grocery shopping or eating out right away. If you save a bunch of receipts to enter later, it becomes much harder to keep track of your budget.

Make yourself write everything down for 90 days. After that keeping a budget will become a habit just like brushing your teeth.
