If you have decided to clean your own carpet, and you have never done it before, then please read this. After the fiasco I got myself into, I would like to spare others. When you rent a carpet cleaning machine, you will also need to buy the chemicals to put into the machine to clean the carpet. Make sure you read the directions carefully that are located on the bottles of carpet cleaning chemicals. I made the huge mistake of putting too much cleaner in the tank, and then I had foamy carpet that took forever to get clean again.
