Unfortunately a side effect of prostate surgery is prostate surgery incontinence, a lack of bladder control. Only a few men will admit to this problem, finding it embarrassing and will not seek help. Daily activities are affected by this condition and yet it can be treated. There are four main categories of prostate surgery incontinence. These include urge incontinence, stress incontinence, mixed or combination of urge and stress incontinence and surgical incontinence. As time passes, the prostate surgery incontinence can be completely reversed. Age is the primary factor as complete control of the bladder is a factor. Men should be told that what is being experience is quite common when undergoing prostate surgery and can be completely cured if addressed early on in recovery.
