Making Fabulous Italian Spaghetti Sauce at Home

One of the things that makes Italian food such a universal crowd pleaser is the wonderful depth of flavor found in its sauces.  And for no food is this more true than it is for great Italian spaghetti sauce recipes.  The best marinara sauces are rich and tomato-y, with subtle herbs and plenty of garlic.  And it’s actually surprisingly easy to get that authentic flavor at home!  The secret?  Cook your onions and garlic (lots of garlic!) in good olive oil until it’s nearly caramelized.  Add and cook away plenty of good, robust red wine.  And don’t be shy about the tomato paste!  It adds tons of deep flavor.
