Choosing a Wood Cutting Board

I did not realize the amount of thought that goes into choosing a wood cutting board.  My mother was shopping with me at the local mall and we noticed a new kitchen store.  We went in and were both amazed at the selection of utensils and products.  I mentioned that I needed to buy a wood cutting board and my mother decided to help me find the right one for me.  She started in with a million questions.  She wanted to know what shape I preferred and what size or thickness I wanted.  I knew that she meant well, and I did appreciate her assistance, but I was also glad when I finally chose one and we could leave the store.
