Ballroom dancing has been around for centuries and perfected over the ages. However, in the last few decades it has fallen out of favor so to speak. Compared to newer, trendier dance moves, ballroom was not as popular as it once was. Mainly due to popular music of today, ballroom dancing wasn’t all that popular. Until now. Ballroom and ballroom dance costumes have become more popular than ever in today’s culture due in part to television shows like Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. These reality shows have brought ballroom back into the spotlight again! They have created a new generation of ballroom dancers.

Favorite Keith Urban Videos
December 1st, 2009 — Arts
Always tough to decipher which of the large collection of keith urban videos is my favorite. I always come down between Hit the Ground Running or You Look Good In My Shirt. I always love live videos as opposed to the ones that are made to look like a movie. Just give me the raw music live scene any day of the week. Keith Urban’s strength is his live show so why not create a music video that captures that. I realize there are some who like to see the story of a song played out in the form of the video. I am not that deep of a guy.

Hunting for D’adddario
November 13th, 2009 — Arts
The hunt is on. It’s that time of year again, holiday shopping time. As I hate to shop at any time, this is a particularly dreadful season for me. The noise and crowds are just too much. So when my nephew stated he wants d’ addario guitar strings for Christmas, I was thrilled. In my experience, speciality shops that would carry items of this nature are never as bad as the discount or department stores. For once, price won’t even be a consideration as I’m just so thrilled to avoid the shopping chaos. Unfortunately, the only local guitar store is in the mall so I won’t be able to avoid it completely, but I’ll take what I can get.
Finally I Was Getting Good Blues Guitar Lessons
November 9th, 2009 — Arts
Over the years I had been able to pick up most of the blues guitar chords. While I had them in my repertoire I felt like I was still being very mechanical in the way I tried to play them. I was putting my fingers in the right place, I was strumming the right stings, but what was coming out of my guitar was not what anyone considered blues. It was coming down to the point where I was ready to destroy my guitar when I discovered the blues guitar lessons on the How To Play Blues web site. My guitar playing turned in the right direction immediately.
A Foot in the Door
November 7th, 2009 — Arts
About a week ago, I got a phone call from one of my sisters, and she told me that she had some really great news. I asked her what was going on, and she told me that she had just landed an interview with this guy named Randy Charach, and he is the head of this company called Synergy Movies. I knew that it rang a bell, I thought that I had seen his films before. She had been wanting to get into the film industry for a while, and she was convinced that this was her foot in the door. I was happy for her.
Cyndi Lauper Halloween Costumes
October 13th, 2009 — Arts
Halloween is the best time of year. I usually host Halloween get-togethers every time. Half the enjoyment is looking at what costumes everyone is wearing, be it my gals or strangers. Although I admit that choosing my own costume seems to always be the trickiest part! Apparently the retro look has returned this halloween, and I’ve been considering Cyndi Lauper Halloween Costumes. Cyndi was my most worshipped rock star back in the 1980s. In the 80s I never did go out as her, or any punk rock girls for Halloween, but hey it’s never too later right? Girls just want to have fun!
To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve: Sleeve Tattoo Designs
October 1st, 2009 — Arts
A growing trend in tattoos has always been the concept of the “sleeve” or tattooing your entire arm until there is no pigment showing. These sleeve tattoo designs take years of planning and execution, with the tattoos being very intricate and detailed. From the shoulder to the wrist, every part of the skin is obscured with ink, often multicolored and based with a blue or green ink. A woman I know who derives much of personal fashion and style from the 1950′s pinup era has a sleeve tattoo with Bettie Page at its center, surrounded by roses, nymphs, records, musical notes, and high heeled shoes. Sleeve tattoo designs are a really awesome way to express yourself. If you can handle the pain, I say go for it!
Selling Indiana Gold is Easy
September 29th, 2009 — Arts
I have been interested in selling some of the gold jewelry I never wear ever since seeing the first commercial on TV. I called one of the places that were advertised and discovered the company wasn’t local and I’d have to send my jewelry through the mail. They tried to tell me it was safe, but I didn’t like the thought of it getting lost in the mail. I was talking to a co-worker about this and she told me there was a local place that paid top dollar for Indiana gold. I took my treasures in an did receive top dollar.
Maid of honor 2
September 11th, 2009 — Arts
The activities of the principal bridesmaid may be as many or as varied as she allows the bride to impose upon her. Her only required duty is to participate in the wedding ceremony. Typically, however, she is asked for help with the logistics of the wedding as an event, such as addressing invitations, and for her help as a friend, such as attending the bride as she shops for her wedding dress. Many brides expect a chief bridesmaid to arrange and pay for a bridal shower as well as the bachelorette party (US) or hen night (Australia and UK), although it is a social faux pas on the bride’s part, since these parties are gifts rather than a right.
the Akai XR20 drum machine is used in all types of music
September 3rd, 2009 — Arts
The electronic age has affected the world of music not only in the development of the genre called “electronic music”, but in other ways as well. One rapidly growing type of musical instrument, for example, is the drum machine. Originally named the rhythm machine, it is programmed to imitate the sounds of drums and other percussion instruments. Unlike some digitally designed instruments, whose sound is always identifiable as electronic, the Akai XR20 drum machine is used in all types of music, sometimes as a necessity, when session musicians are in shorty supply, but also as a preference, as many musicians would rather set the percussion to their own tastes. In fact, the first of these instruments were built in to organs, and controlled by the organist. Since the introduction of the Rhythm Ace, which was the first successful rhythm machine, produced by a company called Ace Tone (later Roland), the drum machine has been growing in diversity and importance, and is a definite asset to all types of music.
Intersted in Seeing Some Pictures of Tattoos
August 23rd, 2009 — Arts
My friends and I have been thinking about getting some tattoos. We do not want to rush into anything though, we have been giving it a lot of thought. We each know where we want to get one, now we just need to decided on what to get. We are interested in seeing some pictures of tattoos. We figure the best way to decide is to see what other people have gotten and what our options are. Once we see some pictures, we are hoping that our decisions will be easier and we will know exactly what we want to get for our tattoos.
What Kind of Easy Piano Lessons are Best for You?
August 22nd, 2009 — Arts
Do-it-yourself books are available for anything, including learning to play the piano. Which is better—teaching yourself, or finding an instructor? To determine the best path, ask yourself some questions. Do you finish everything you begin? Does your full schedule keep you from a favorite hobby? Do you tend to place others’ wants ahead of your own? If you answered “Yes” to any, or all, of these questions, you may not want to simply buy a book called “Easy Piano Lessons” and begin the path to pianist extraordinaire alone. You will probably have much better success by signing up with an instructor, setting the weekly lesson in cement on your calendar, and taking your “Easy Piano Lessons” book to your instructor and saying, “Can we start here?”
TV Video Show of Our Pictures
August 22nd, 2009 — Arts
We were messing around with the TiVo box the other night and found out that we can have it so a slide show of pictures either from our computer or even from some of the photo sites on the Internet. It’s like we can make our very own TV video show of our favorite pictures.
This ought to be really cool for when we have birthday parties or whatever. We can do a slide show of pictures of whoever we’re celebrating, and we won’t have to do anything but drop the images in an iPhoto album and let it rip.
Very, very cool.
