Why you should get an employment background check before hiring

Fraud, theft, embezzlement and other workplace crime is a situation I hope you are never unlucky enough to find yourself in. But it is not all luck- there are things that you personally can do to reduce your risk of making a bad hiring decision that could have adverse and even dangerous effects in the future. One of these things is conducting an employment background check on your top candidates. This will allow you to rule out anyone with obvious red flags like criminal histories. Not everyone with a criminal record is necessarily a bad hiring choice but you need to be aware.
