Contacting a Lawyer About Goods I Never Received

Several years ago, one of my good friends was scammed by a company online.  She bought hundreds of dollars of products from a company, which seemed to have good reviews, but after waiting for 2 months for the products to come in, then never did.  She tried contacting the company with no luck.  She then decided to check out the Better Business Bureau and saw a lot of complaints with the same problem she had.  She she got on the phone with her San Diego Attorney and asked him if there was anything she could to to get her money back.  He told her that she would need all the documentation from the company and that he would try to work with year to get her hard earned money back.  It took almost a year, but the lawyer finally was able to recover her money and she told me that she will never buy from someone that she is not familiar with or has not done an excessive background check before buying from.
